The client lives in an old house at the top of the site. Recently he invited Peter Cook and Thom Mayne to make designs for two cabins or studios which will - along with one of his own - form an enclave on the foothills of the Mount Washington district of east Los Angeles.
With panoramic views towards both downtown and Century City, the site is exceedingly steep so we have created a 50m2 cabin to sit on a large, useable deck with a plantation hanging under it capable of riding the terrain. It is principally of steel and timber construction.
