Play sits beyond survival, achievement or common sense. It opens up a space between the wayward and the speculative, where unashamed amusement is allowed. Amongst the trees, beside a major cultural institution, across from the Serpentine 2025 Pavilion and a short skip from the lake, the Play Pavilion takes on the role of fool, joker and mischievous child. It invites visitors not just to look, but to come inside, play with it and become part of the performance.

I was involved throughout the entire process of the Serpentine Garden Theatre Pavilion × LEGO project—from early conceptual design and working models to the preparation of planning drawings. Additionally, I developed a computational workflow for the team to rapidly iterate the façade and interior designs using LEGO’s voxel language, enabling the team to efficiently complete the iterative design of the pavilion’s LEGO components.

I also spearheaded the digital twin for this project and produced several cartoon-style promotional videos.
